Rachel Zachry (Business Administrator)
Most days when you walk into Mitchell Family Eye Care, you will likely be greeted by Rachel (in spite of the thousands of tasks she is probably completing!) Originally from Baton Rouge, Rachel moved to Thibodaux, LA after getting married, and she joined our staff in March 2013. Rachel studied at Southeastern Louisiana University, where she earned a Master’s of Business Administration. Her previous experience working in the financial industry has brought a great work ethic to our team.
Rachel says, “The eye care industry is quite interesting and ever changing! We have the best patients who make you feel like family. I attribute it to the culture of Southern Louisiana. The doctors that I work for are most attentive to their patients needs and really care about people. The girls that work here are some of the kindest and most caring people that you could meet. They make my job quite pleasurable.
Jessica “Jess” Chatagnier (Receptionist)
Jessica Reando Chatagnier is originally from Festus, Missouri, and she might be the most genuinely nice person you will ever meet! Jess met her husband Justin on a trip to Louisiana in 2011. She moved to this great state and became a resident shortly after, and she and her husband were married in 2017. Jessica graduated from Fletcher Technical Community College and we were lucky enough to have her join our team in 2017. Jess is an animal lover and proud fur mom to Bella, Benny, Beau, and Skittle. Jess also loves to travel with her husband any chance she gets! Jess says, “I feel extremely lucky to be a part of the Mitchell Eye Care Family. The office is my home away from home.”
And we feel the same way— we are so lucky to have Jessica as part of our family!
Demi Laiche (Receptionist)
Demi is one of the smiling faces greeting you when you walk in our office. Born and raised in Thibodaux LA, Demi says she doesn’t plan on leaving! She is married to her high school sweetheart, and in her free time Demi enjoys reading, riding in the boat (while reading), and reading about archery. Fun fact about Demi: she comes from a family of 3 generations of cosmetologists (including her identical twin sister!).
Courtney Richard (Technician & Vision Therapist)
“This office is my second home. The relationships I’ve established with our patients through the years make my job the most rewarding. At this point, there’s lot of patients I consider to be more like family,” says Courtney, who has been a part of Mitchell Family Eye Care since its opening in 2007. Born and raised in Thibodaux, Courtney studied at Nicholls State University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She currently resides in Thibodaux with her husband Michael and their fur baby, Marley.
Joelene Himel (Technician)
In January 2014, we were excited with the addition of Dr. Lisa Mitchell to our office. In June that same year, we welcomed Joelene. She comes to us with extensive ophthalmic experience. Joelene worked at Kellum Eye Center in Houma from 2006-2013. Her previous experience working alongside Dr. Lisa has allowed her to transition easily to our team. Joelene was born and raised in Labadieville, LA and currently resides in Labadieville with her husband and three children. We are excited to have Joelene on our team.
Michelle Orgeron (Technician)
Having worked in our office full-time for several years, Michelle had a beautiful baby girl in 2021. We wish we could have her full-time, but understand Mom is her #1 job now! Michelle continues to fill-in our office about once a month as needed. Maybe you will be lucky enough to see her!
Lindsey Naquin (Optician)
Step into our optical shop and you’ll be greeted with a friendly smile from our lead optician, Lindsey. Lindsey joined our team in July 2013 and has amazing ability to help our patients choose the eyewear that meets their styles and needs. Lindsey has quickly become a great optician and a perfect addition to our office. Born and raised in Thibodaux, Lindsey is also a 2012 graduate of Nicholls State University. In her spare time, she enjoys fishing, cooking and learning more about new trends in the optical industry.
Shelly Williams (Optical)
Choosing the correct glasses and lens style can sometimes be difficult, but our optician Shelly makes the process of picking out your perfect pair of glasses go smoothly. More to come about Shelly soon! She is a very hard worker with a positive attitude, and she has a knack for developing a friendly bond with each patient. Once you’ve completed the process of picking out your glasses, you will realize how much fun it can be!
Vickie Esponge
Vickie was added to our optical team in April 2023, and comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience. More to come on Vickie soon!
Christine Broussard (Billing and Insurance Specialist)
“Understanding insurance and its benefits can be confusing and more or less a hassle for patients. My job is to help patients thoroughly understand their benefits based on their medical and vision needs,” says Christine Broussard, who has been with Mitchell Family Eye Care since 2011. Christine, originally from Gueydan, LA, has extensive billing and insurance experience in the medical field. We are proud to have her on our team.
Sierra Swafford (Technician)
Sierra Swafford is originally from upstate New York. She moved to Thibodaux in 2005 and has called this great town home ever since. Sierra is a 2013 graduate from Nicholls State University and joined the Mitchell Family Eye Care team in January 2020 as a technician. “I feel so lucky to be able to be in an environment that has already taught me so much and I can’t wait to continue learning with this wonderful team.” In her free time Sierra can often be found with one of her four fur babies curled up on her lap, in her back yard sitting around the fire pit with friends, or beating her husband at Mario Kart.
Kassidy Weller (Technician)
We are excited to announce the newest member to our team who joined us in April 2022. Kassidy graduated from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in Pre-Med with a Concentration in Allied Health Sciences and a Minor in Chemistry. One of her goals is to pursue a career in Optometry! “Optometry has always been interesting to me, and I love getting to know patients.” In her free time, Kassidy enjoys fishing, hunting, cooking, and spending time with her St. Bernard/Great Pyrenees, Katy. Kassidy is a valuable member of our team and we look forward to having her as a part of Mitchell Family Eye Care as she gains more knowledge and helps our practice grow.
Alayna Mason (Front Desk)
Aly joined the MFEC crew in June of 2023. She enjoys mud riding, hunting and hanging out with friends and family on her time off. She is a hoot and can always find a way make everyone laugh. She consistently comes in to work with a smile on her face, and ready to give our patients the best experience while in our office. Aly says that her favorite part of the job is “seeing the real change that we make in our patients life by helping them see.”
Alaina Lefort (Front Desk)
Lani was born and raised in Thibodaux, La. She graduated from Nicholls State University in 2021 with a degree in Dietetics. She and her husband were high school sweethearts, and were married in 2023! In her free time she enjoys reading, working out, and playing with her Boston Terrier, Bruno.
